MADRID
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that only 14 of 35 chapter headings had been opened to negotiations in Turkey's EU membership process so far.
Turkey has been at the doors of EU for 50 years, added Erdogan who held a joint press conference with his Spanish counterpart Mariano Rajoy in Madrid on Tuesday.
Such an approach has never been shown to any candidate country. Turkey was acted like this because of political reasons, said Erdogan.
Erdogan noted that Spain had always supported Turkey in its EU membership process.
Regarding Turkish-Spanish economic relations, Erdogan said that there were more than 400 Spanish entrepreneur companies in Turkey, adding that those companies were operating in energy, finance and infrastructure areas.
