ANKARA
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay said 152,051 Syrian refugees were currently staying in camps in Turkey.
Atalay told reporters on Tuesday that the number of Syrians entering Turkey to take shelter was constantly rising, adding that they were staying in 13 camps in Turkey.
Some of these are tent sites while some others are container cities, he added.
Atalay said that two more container sites would be opened within this week.
Noting that not all of the Syrians were staying in camps in Turkey, Atalay said that 80,000-100,000 more Syrians crossed in Turkey with their passports, and had been staying in different provinces across the country. He added that currently nearly a total of 230,000 Syrians were staying in Turkey.
