The figure was 2.5 billion U.S. dollars six or seven years earlier, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said at a meeting with Mexican businessmen in Ankara.
Latin American countries were aware of Turkey's growing economy, young population and sound infrastructure, he said.
Caglayan said that Turkey and Mexico should boost cooperation more.
Mexico was serving as an important bridge between North America and South America, and it was the 14th largest economy in the world, he said.
Trade volume between Turkey and Mexico remained at 849 million USD last year, he said, adding that the figure reached 661 million U.S. dollars in the first eight months of this year.
