BITLIS, Turkey
Nearly 46,000 packs of contraband cigarettes were seized in eastern Turkey, officials said on Friday.
The Bitlis Governorate said the local police confiscated 45,730 packs of smuggled cigarettes in a farmhouse in Tatvan district on Thursday.
A legal procedure was initiated against two suspects over the case.
Meanwhile, the gendarmerie forces seized 118 kilograms (260 pounds) contraband tobacco in Guroymak district in a car during regular road patrols.
