WARSAW
Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc met with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in Warsaw during Poland’s celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the end of communism on Wednesday.
“Mr. Kerry and I discussed Syria and other border countries’ latest developments, the Cypriot issue and the Turkey-U.S. relationship during the ceremony dinner,” Arinc said.
Arinc also referred to the leader of the Crimean Tatar community, Mustafa Dzhemilev, who recently won Poland's first ‘Solidarity Award’ from President Bronislaw Komorowski.
“This award is a great honor for Crimean Tatars and all Turkish citizens,” Arinc said.
This year, Turkey and Poland celebrated the 600th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and Arinc said that the two countries’ relationship was “perfect”.
Turkey aims to increase the relationship between the two countries.
In March, President Komorowski paid two-day official visit to Turkey as both countries’ leaders sought permanent solutions to the Eastern Europe crisis.
