ISTANBUL
Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan on Thursday met with Kuwait's Minister of Commerce and Industry Anas al-Khalid al-Salih.
Speaking to reporters before his meeting with the Kuwaiti delegation began, Caglayan underlined that Turkey and Kuwait shared a crucial friendship.
"Trade volume between Turkey and Kuwait is around 570 million USD. God willing, this trade volume would soon go over 1 billion USD," Caglayan stressed.
Minister al-Salih, in his part, said that they were in Turkey to prepare for the 9th Joint Economic Committee meetings between Turkey and Kuwait as well as for preparations before the Amir of Kuwait visited Turkey.
The meeting between Caglayan and the Kuwaiti delegation later continued behind closed doors.
