ANKARA
The Turkish Army has said its forces had killed Monday a total of 12 PKK terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari.
The Turkish Army said Tuesday in its daily statements that “a total of 12 Separatist Terror Organization [PKK] members were neutralized” Monday in continuing operations in Hakkari province’s district of Yuksekova.
The army said that Turkish jets had also destroyed one anti-aircraft guns position, five bunkers and an ammunition depot.
The statement also said nine terrorists, “one in Hakkari’s Cukurca [district] and eight in Sirnak’s Silopi surrendered”.
The Turkish army began its air-and-ground operations against PKK terror organization inside Turkey and northern Iraq in late July, as the PKK renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state following a two-and-a-half year cease-fire.
