ANKARA
Ministers of foreign affairs of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia will get together over a tripartite meeting in Black Sea province of Trabzon on Friday to assess bilateral and regional developments.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze will discuss opportunities to improve cooperation between their countries during their upcoming gathering, said a statement from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
"This tripartite dialogue mechanism, established between the foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia upon our country's initiative, is expected to provide a platform to discuss bilateral and regional issues and to develop an understanding of cooperation on various fields based on mutual benefits," the statement said.
The mechanism also aims at contributing to regional stability and security by creating an atmosphere of sustainable regional cooperation in the South Caucasus, the statement added.
