ANKARA
Fifteen suspects accused of illegally wiretapping hundreds of Turkish officials, politicians and journalists were remanded into custody by an Ankara court late Friday.
The 15 were among 30 arrested across Turkey three days earlier following a request from the Ankara chief public prosecutor.
The defendants are said to have been involved in wiretapping the communications of 432 businessmen, journalists, politicians, military and police officers, Constitutional Court officials and figures from the energy and banking regulators.
