MUGLA, Turkey
A Briton arrested in connection with a fatal fire at a marina in southwestern Turkey has been remanded in custody on homicide charges.
A court in the Aegean province of Mugla made the ruling on Tuesday.
The court said the 34-year-old British man would face charges of “negligent homicide”.
A second British nation, a 24-year-old female who was also arrested after Monday’s fire, has been released under judicial restrictions.
On Monday, three yachts named White Lady, Cartano and Passion, were completely destroyed after a blaze engulfed Marmaris Marina in Mugla.
A 63-year-old Turkish man, named as Ekrem Gokce, died in the fire.
