MOGADISHU (AA) - September 16, 2012 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag attended oath-taking ceremony of Somalia's new president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Mogadishu, Somalia on Sunday.
Somali President Mohamud took oath as the new president of Somalia at a ceremony.
Besides Bozdag, presidents of Djibouti, Uganda, Burundi as well as delegations from Kenya and Sudan, Arab League and UN representatives participated in the ceremony.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Bozdag said Turkey would keep extending great support to Somalia in the coming period as well.
Wishing success to President Mohamud, Bozdag said he would like to thank Somali government members for their achievements in ensuring the security in the country.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud (born November 29, 1955) is a Somali politician. He was elected president of Somalia on September 10, 2012. He was previously a university professor and dean.
