ANKARA (AA) - July 31, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu telephoned on Tuesday Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby to talk about the developments in Syria.
Diplomatic sources said that Davutoglu exchanged ideas over Arab League's draft resolution on Syria which the league would bring it to the UN General Assembly in coming days.
Minister Davutoglu also had a telephone conversation with Sweden's Foreign Minister Carl Bildt on Tuesday.
Both ministers discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Syria.
Turkey's EU minister: "German Marshall Fund creates an important platform for Turkey's EU process"
ANKARA (AA) - July 31, 2012 - Turkish Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis has said, "German Marshall Fund supports Turkey's bid to join the European Union. Especially, the forum they hold every year in Brussels is important for Turkey as they give positive messages about us and they create an important platform for Turkey's EU bid."
Minister Bagis received Turkey Director of German Marshall Fund of the United States Ozgur Unluhisarcikli on Tuesday at the ministry building in Ankara.
Bagis said that they came together to discuss last year's forum and make plans for the upcoming forum.
Moreover, Unluhisarcikli pointed that they always received Bagis's support, even before they opened the German Marshall Fund's office in Ankara and added, "I visit him time to time in the scope of informing Egemen Bagis about next term's activities and to take his advice."
The German Marshall Fund of the United States is an impartial American public policy and grantmaking institution for enabling the clear understanding and cooperation between North America and Europe on transatlantic and global issues.
