SARAJEVO
Turkish Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin on Thursday participated in an international conference in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Speaking at the conference on "Security, Technology and Education in the Balkans: Difficulties in the Cyberinfrastructure," Sahin said online public services that states offered to their citizens made them targets of cyber crime.
Sahin said Turkey had engaged in strategic and operational cooperation with international bodies such as the United Nations, the Council of Europe and NATO to tackle cyber threats, adding that his country also provided training programs for law enforcement agencies of more than 15 countries in fighting cyber crimes.
Sahin later appeared in a joint press conference together with his Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Macedonian counterparts.
Sahin said in the press meeting that Turkey was in close cooperation with Bosnia & Herzegovina in fighting cyber crimes as well as in other law enforcement issues.
