Turkish airstrikes in northern Iraq have destroyed shelters and supply depots of the PKK terrorist group, the Turkish military said on Saturday.
In a statement on its website, the Turkish General Staff said 22 jets destroyed 23 positions around Zap, Avasin-Basyan, Hakurk and Qandil on Friday night.
The air force also conducted raids on PKK positions in Turkey’s southeastern Sirnak province, destroying bunkers and arms caches.
Meanwhile, in Kilis province, the military arrested 11 people, including five children, as they attempted to cross into Syria.
The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, renewed its armed campaign in late July. Since then, more than 1,700 PKK terrorists have been killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
