Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu visited Thursday the site of Sunday’s deadly terrorist attack in capital Ankara to lay carnations for the 35 victims.
Walking to the blast site from the nearby former Prime Ministry building in Kizilay, Davutoglu laid carnations and said prayers for the victims, before visiting the local businesses.
Davutoglu was accompanied with his wife Sare Davutoglu, Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan, Customs and Trade Minister Bulent Tufenkci, former Parliament speaker and AK Party deputy Cemil Ciçek, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mehdi Eker, Ankara Mayor Melih Gokcek and the general director of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen, Bendevi Palandoken.
PKK claimed responsibility for the car bomb attack Thursday.
The terrorist suicide bombing which targeted a major public transportation hub in Ankara’s central Kizilay neighborhood Sunday evening also injured 125 people.
Thirty-one of the people injured in the blast continue to receive treatment at hospitals across the capital, with nine still in intensive care, said the Health Ministry on Thursday.
The Interior Ministry has identified the bomber as 24-year-old Seher Cagla Demir, who joined the PKK terrorist group in 2013 and received training with the YPG in Syria.
The terrorist PKK also admitted that the attack was made by Demir, code-named "Doga Jiyan".
Security sources added that female terrorists have recently been carrying out PKK attacks, and PKK branches and affiliates believed such attacks would get a public response.
