Turkish President Abdullah Gul received British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and an accompanying delegation in Ankara on Wednesday.
The closed-door meeting took place at the Cankaya Presidential Palace.
Earlier Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan had a meeting with Clegg.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received British Deputy Prime Minister and leader of British Liberal Democrats Nick Clegg in Ankara, the Turkish capital on Wednesday.
The closed-door meeting at the Prime Ministry residence lasted for nearly one and a half hour.
Clegg visits chairman of CHP Kilicdaroglu
Clegg visited chairman of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu in Ankara, the Turkish capital on Wednesday.
Faruk Logoglu, Deputy Chairman of CHP Party, made a statement after the closed-to-press meeting and said that British group demanded the meeting and they were happy to accept their request.
Logoglu noted that Clegg underlined at the meeting his party's and Britain's support to Turkey's EU accession bid.
