Turkish dailies Tuesday dedicated their front-pages to stories about Turkey’s plans to grant work permits to Syrian refugees and an anti-terror operation in eastern Van province.
HURRIYET and MILLIYET carried the same headlines read: "Work permit for Syrians", referring to Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus’ remarks Monday.
Turkey is planning to issue unrestricted work permits to Syrian refugees, Kurtulmus told journalists following a Cabinet meeting in Ankara.
There will be no restrictions on age, sex or industry sector, Kurtulmus said. However, the number of Syrian workers in a company will not exceed 10 percent of the total work force, he added.
Stressing the 10-percent limit, HABERTURK headlined: "Work permit for Syrians with 10 percent-quota".
Sunday’s anti-terror operation in Baskale town of eastern Van province also made the headlines.
"Arsenal at villa with pool" was VATAN’s headline.
Authorities displayed Monday the cache of weapons including 7 AK-47 and 2 M-16 automatic rifles, 25 hand-grenades and dozens of bullets, which were seized at the two-storey villa during the operation.
Twelve PKK terrorists were killed while one police officer were martyred during the raid at the villa, according to police.
On its front-page, MILLIYET’s headline read: "Baskale force brought down", accompanied with a photo of the weapons and the villa.
According to the newspaper, PKK terrorists were planning to raise a revolt in the southeastern and the eastern provinces in the spring.
In other news, newspapers also covered a fatal traffic accident in Istanbul on Tuesday.
HURRIYET headlined: "Two killed with one stone".
A forty-year-old pregnant woman and her seven month-old unborn baby were killed when a piece of concrete stone hit their car in Istanbul on Monday.
The newspaper said the woman, together with her husband and a friend, was driving home in Pendik district when the nearly 5-kg stone bounced off the opposite lane of the road after a traffic accident.
HABERTURK carried the headline: "A horrible death from opposite lane".
