A Turkish gendarme corporal seriously injured in a counter-terrorism operation has died of his wounds in Gulhane Military Hospital, Ankara.
According to the Turkish General Staff, Mustafa Karaman was injured four days ago in ongoing operations launched on March 14 to capture PKK terrorists, dispose of explosives and remove barricades in the Nusaybin district of Turkey's southeast Mardin province.
The PKK -- also listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, over 350 members of the security forces have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
