Turkey's main stock exchange, the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE), and New York Stock Exchange Euronext are set to launch a joint options market in London, ISE's president said Thursday.
"For the first time Borsa Istanbul will open a market abroad to trade its own stocks. There will be a future exchanges and option market, which will begin trading on December 21," Ibrahim Turan told reporters in a press meeting in Istanbul.
Borsa Istanbul is a proposed new umbrella exchange that would merge the ISE and the Istanbul Gold Exchange.
Turan said there would be ten underlying assets for the new options market that included Is Bankasi Akbank, Vakifbank, Yapi Kredi Bankasi, the Turkish Airlines, Eregli Iron&Steel, Sabanci Holding, Turkcell and Tupras.
