ASHGABAT (AA) - September 3, 2012 - Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow received on Monday Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz in Ashgabat.
Speaking to reporters before the meeting with the Turkish minister, Berdimuhamedow said that his country's relations with Turkey in trade, economical and cultural areas have been in progress.
Berdemuhamedow also said that his formal visit to Turkey in August was so beneficial in terms of boosting relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz stated that Turkey-Turkmenistan relations had been strong for a long time as describing both countries "two states one nation".
Yildiz also stated that he had been holding several beneficial meetings with representatives in energy sector within the scope of the visit.
He thanked Berdimuhammedow for supporting Turkish construction companies in Turkmenistan.
Yildiz will hold a quadruple meeting later on with participation of Turkmen, Azerbaijani, Turkish and EU officials.
Turkish energy minister holds several talks in Turkmenistan
ASHGABAT (AA) - September 3, 2012 - Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz has said that it was necessary to utilize Turkmenistan's natural gas for the region.
Minister Yildiz who has been in Ashgabat since Sunday, completed his separate meetings on Monday with representatives in energy sector in Ashgabat, the capital of Tukmenistan.
Yildiz held meetings with Turkemenistan's Energy Minister Myrat Artykow, Azerbaijan's Industry & Energy Minister Natiq Aliyev and European Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger.
During the meetings, Yildiz discussed the project of the pipeline that will carry Turkmen and Azerbaijani gas to Europe.
Speaking to reporters following the meetings, Yildiz stated that all dialogues were so beneficial.
"Turkmenistan gas cannot stay out of the region's gas movement. We think that it was necessary to use it for the region and at the meeting with European Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger, Turkmen and Azerbaijani ministers, we discussed the details. We talk about how the Turkmen gas could be included in this project within the frame of energy security," the minister said.
Yildiz is expected to leave for Turkey later on Monday.
