ANKARA
"Me and my wife Marie, on behalf of the American nation, would like to send our best wishes to all Muslims, particularly those in Turkey," said U.S. Ambassador Francis J. Ricciardone in a video message.
The ambassador said he had worked as a diplomat in many countries, but he had witnessed the most joyful Ramadan in Turkey.
He also said Ramadan reminded values such as charity, friendship, devotion and the importance of helping the less fortunate.
"We, as Americans, also attach importance to values such as family ties, solidarity and devotion, all reflected by the spirit of Ramadan. On this occasion, I would like to send my best wishes to all Muslims," the ambassador concluded his message.
