ANKARA
Speaking at a joint press conference with the Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zerdari at the end of a Trilateral Summit of Turkey-Afghanistan-Pakistan, Hamid Karzai noted that they were making progress in relations with Pakistan.
"Efforts between our three countries will continue to provide peace, stability and economic development," Karzai stressed.
"We do hope that the struggle against extremism and radicalization will bear fruit," Karzai underlined.
"Turkey has facilitated an atmosphere in which we can continue better dialogue with Pakistan," Karzai also said.
Both Afghanistan and Pakistan are victims, says Pakistani president
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zerdari on Wednesday said that Pakistan and Afghanistan dealt with similar difficulties.
Speaking at a joint press conference with the Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Afghan President Hamid Karzai at the end of a Trilateral Summit between Turkey-Afghanistan-Pakistan on Wednesday, President Zerdari said that there were sides which did not want Pakistan and Afghanistan to come together.
"Nevertheless, we will continue to work. Working together will carry us to peace," Zerdari stressed.
"When my brother Karzai's citizens get killed they become victims. My country Pakistan also loses citizens (to violence). Both Afghanistan and Pakistan are victims," Zerdari underlined.
