"Our ambassadors are working as a cultural attache, making propaganda for Turkey's image" said Davutoglu at the luncheon organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) on the sidelines of the Fifth Ambassadors Conference in Izmir on Sunday.
Stating that the work of DEIK significantly contributed to Turkey's foreign policy, Davutoglu said, "the number of our embassies has increased to 124 and our foreign representative offices to 209. I take it as we have 233 embassies in the world as 109 business councils' presidents also contribute to our foreign policy likewise our ambassadors."
Davutoglu reminded that they had signed free trade agreements with 19 countries and visa exemption agreements with over 50 countries.
"We don't have huge amounts of natural resources, our biggest wealth is human resources. The more you travel, the more you produce sources which will return to our country," said Davutoglu regarding businessmen.
He also said that they were in such a good condition that they were able to direct a Turkish citizen travelling by taxi in New York who could not speak English via the call center of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
