BERLIN
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said that "it is no use for anyone not to open new chapters," expressing his hope for new chapters to open in Turkey's EU accession talks.
Germany's Westerwelle met with foreign correspondents working in Berlin and made statements on the agenda.
Westerwelle highlighted Turkey not only achieved an economic success but also continue improving itself in all fields.
Turkey could go further on the open-ended talks if it displays the required flexibility, stated Westerwelle.
Touching upon Turkish-Israeli relations, Westerwelle described the present situation as "not pleasing" and voiced his hope for the relations to re-normalize.
Concerning Iran's nuclear program, Westerwelle expressed the need for a political resolution.
Guido Westerwelle is a liberal politician from the Free Democratic Party of Germany, serving since 28 October 2009 as the Foreign Minister in the second cabinet of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
