Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius on Monday discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues in a phone call, said Türkiye's Communications Directorate.
During the call, President Erdogan wished Sinkevicius success in his new post, which the premier took last month, and expressed his belief that relations between the two countries would continue to grow stronger.
Erdogan underlined the importance of boosting Türkiye's contacts with Lithuania in all areas in the days ahead, especially in the defense industry.
President Erdogan noted that Ankara continues to work toward ensuring that the Russia-Ukraine war ends with a lasting peace.
Erdogan also wished Lithuania success in its upcoming presidency of the Council of the EU, starting next January.
