ISMAILIA (AA) - At least 15 people were killed and many others were wounded when a passenger bus collided with a truck in the northeastern Egyptian city of al-Qantarah.
The crash took place on a road linking al-Qantarah with Salihiyya near Ismailia, according to security sources.
Many people were wounded in the accident.
There was no further information on the cause of the accident.
Reckless driving, lax traffic regulations and dangerous road conditions are major reasons for many traffic accidents in Egypt.
Deadly road and rail accidents across the country have sparked public outcry over the government’s transport safety record in recent years.
In 2011, 7,115 people died in traffic accidents, according to a government report.
