Four civilians were killed in a landmine explosion targeting African peacekeepers in southern Somalia on Saturday.
The fatalities occurred when the explosion struck near an African peacekeepers' vehicle in the southern city of Kisimao, a security source said.
At least eight people were also injured in the blast.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the bombing.
Peacekeepers have sealed off the area and launched an investigation into the attack.
Somalia has remained in the grip of political violence since the outbreak of civil war in 1991.
It recently appeared to inch closer to stability with the intervention of African Union troops tasked with bringing the Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab movement to heel.
