A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit the Caspian Sea and was felt across six regions of Azerbaijan.
The Republican Seismic Survey Center of Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Sciences said in a statement that the quake occurred at 1.05 p.m. local time (0905GMT) at a depth of 70 kilometers (43.5 miles).
It added that the quake was felt in the country’s Lankaran, Yardimli, Lerik, Astara, Jalilabad, and Neftchala regions, with a magnitude between 3 and 4.
