Six Yemeni soldiers were killed Thursday in an attack by Al-Qaeda-affiliated militants in the central province of Al Bayda, eyewitnesses said.
According to the witnesses, the militants opened fire on a military checkpoint in Radaa district and seized an armored vehicle.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Al-Qaeda militants are active in some areas in Al Bayda.
In recent weeks, militants launched attacks targeting security forces in the province, for which Yemeni authorities blame Al-Qaeda.
