A total of 56 people were killed in several cities of Syria on Monday in operations staged by forces loyal to the Syrian regime, activists said.
Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group that tracks civilian and dissident casualties, said that Assad forces killed 19 in the suburbs of capital Damascus, 12 in Aleppo, 9 in Hama, 4 each in Idlib, Deir al-Zor and Dera'a, 3 in Homs, and one in Quneitra in air and land offensives.
Meanwhile, Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) stated that several ambulances were directed to the Merce Square in capital Damascus after a vehicle exploded near the area.
Furthermore, SANA, Syrian national news agency, announced that regime forces made major gains against opposition fighters including foreign nationals in operations across the country.
