Actors and the crew of the anti-Islamic movie "Innocence of Muslims" which sparked global protests and outrage in the Muslim world have said they were deceived about their roles in the film.
"The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer. We are shocked by the drastic re-writes of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred," a statement said.
The statement said actors and crew had been misinformed about "the real motives" of the movie and that the offensive passages were dubbed in after filming.
