At least 28 Taliban militants were killed while 30 people were wounded including 2 Afghan soldiers in clashes between Afghan armed forces and Taliban in the central-eastern Wardak province of Afghanistan on Friday.
In a statement, Office of Wardak Governor announced that the clashes in Maidan Shar, Chak, Day Mirdad and Saydabad districts of Wardak left 14 Taliban militants dead, injuring 15 people including one Afghan soldier.
"Other clashes in certain regions of Wardak killed 9 Taliban militants and one wounded, while one Afghan soldier was injured," said the office.
In the meantime, two Taliban militants were killed by a bomb they were trying to place on the side of the road, while two other militants were dead and five wounded during an operation in the Saydabad district.
Late Friday clashes in Chak and Day Mirdad also claimed life of one Taliban militant, injuring 8 of them, the office said.
