LONDON (AA) - March 27, 2013 - Former British foreign secretary David Miliband of Labour Party, is preparing to step down as an MP. He will be the head of a charity organization in the US.
British press announced that Miliband (47) will be the head of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in New York. IRC responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people survive and rebuild their lives.
Miliband quit the shadow cabinet after losing the knife-edge vote for the party leadership to his younger brother Ed in 2010.
A South Shields MP since 2001, Miliband is married to an American musician.
