Cargo vessel approached by unidentified skiff off Yemen: Maritime agency

A cargo vessel was approached by an unidentified skiff off Yemen on Thursday, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said.

The incident occurred approximately 98 nautical miles southwest of Al Mukalla, according to the maritime agency.

The UKMTO said the cargo ship’s company security officer reported that the vessel had been approached by an unidentified skiff. Authorities are investigating the incident.

The agency advised vessels transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
