ROME
The coast guards in Italy have rescued 451 migrants off the coast of Libya offshores on Thursday.
According to the statement made on the Italian coast guard command's Twitter account, 451 migrants were taken in within the scope of Operation Triton.
Operation Triton designates European Union’s border-surveillance mission in the Mediterranean Sea. It has been expanded since June 1.
