BEIJING
The death toll from an oil pipeline blast in the coastal town Qingdao in Eastern China rose to 52, and 18,000 people have been evacuated.
Eleven people were still unaccounted for, and 6 of the casualties were firemen, China's Xinhua News Agency stated.
The explosion occurred on Friday when leaked oil caught fire as workers were trying to contain a rapture at an underground oil pipeline belonging to Chinese petroleum giant Sinopec .
136 people were wounded in the explosion while ten of them were still in critical condition.
