The National Liberation Front of Egypt, made up of different opposition parties, announced on Tuesday they would boycott the general elections whose first phase would take place on April 22.
One of the leaders of the Front, Samih Ashuh, speaking at a press conference, stressed that they made a comprehensive evaluation of Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi's call for dialogue and participation in elections.
"We took a decision to boycott the elections. We will not participate in the elections unless the transparency of the elections are secured and there would be a neutral government to implement the elections," Ashuh stated.
The Front also announced on Tuesday that they would not attend Tuesday night's dialogue meeting for which President Morsi had made a call.
