Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said, "l wish that the prejudices would not dominate UN Security Council and if the prejudices were to dominate UNSC, there would be no hope for the UN report on Syria"
Speaking at the ceremony of the 91st anniversary of the Victory Day of Turkey, Erdogan on Friday said, there is no need to call the parliament for an emergency session to adopt a resolution over Syria.
Erdogan on the criticism for a military operation in Syria, said that it would shed blood to end bloodshed: "This is doubtlessly not a correct way to think about it. Those who adopt this approach, why don't they say this to those who aid the unrelenting massacre that Syria is carrying out now? Is the Syrian regime doing this by its own means? It is clear who is behind it. Even though those who stand behind are clear, people cannot tell it clearly in their face".
Regarding the report of UN inspection team over the use of chemical weapons in Syria, Erdogan said, l wish that the prejudices would not dominate UN Security Council and if the prejudices were to dominate UNSC, there would be no hope for the UN report on Syria.
On the ineffectiveness of diplomatic channels over Syrian issue, Erdogan said "Let those who dragged Syria into this mess try to solve this issue primarily through diplomatic channels but we have tried this for eight months and could not achieve an outcome. Later on, we made efforts to have dialogue with Russia and Iran on this issue, but again could not make it work".
In response to a question whether he will meet with US President Barack Obama, Erdogan said, the talks between Kerry and Davutoglu have continued and "l will meet with Obama in Saint Petersburg on Wednesday. But, we will not stay there long enough for a meeting. Obama also will not stay long there".
Earlier on Friday, Erdogan had said "UN and Arab League have not done their duties on Syrian chemical attack".
Erdogan also said he could postpone his visit to Argentina if the situation in the region gets worse.
