HASAKAH, Syria
At least 27 people were killed, including 16 children, on Sunday in an explosion in the northeastern province of Hasakah, a local network said.
The Local Coordination Committees of Syria said in a statement that the blast occurred near a clinic in Mayselon neighborhood in Qamishli city.
Scores of victims were wounded in the attack and were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
Syria has been gripped by constant fighting since the Assad regime launched a violent crackdown in response to anti-government protests in March 2011, triggering a conflict that has killed more than 220,000.
