European football's governing body UEFA has issued a point deduction penalty to Croatia, Euro 2016 qualifying Group H, as punishment for the swastika drawn on the pitch before a match against Italy in Split.
According to the statement on UEFA website on Thursday, Croatia was not only deducted a point but they will be forced to to play their next two home gmaes in an empty stadium.
On June 12, before a match against Italy which ended in a 1-1 draw, a Nazi symbol could be seen on the field of Poljud Stadium.
Croatia, which is also fined 100,000 ($109.934), will be unable to play any qualifying games at Poljud Stadium in Split as well.
Despite the point deduction penalty, Croatia still leads Group H with 13 points.
