KILIS, Turkey
The IHH Relief Foundation has sent 21 trucks of flour and 5 trucks of food to Syria on Saturday as part of the campaign "I need you!", launched to help Syrian refugees and civil war casualties.
Speaking to the journalists, IHH Kilis Coordinator Erhan Yemelek said that the bread price in Syria has sharply gone up recently; they donate flour to bakers in Syria to lower bread prices.
Stating that the donation was held jointly by IHH and Human Appeal based in UK, to support the campaing "I need you!" Yemelek said, "Syrian people need our aid. There was a grave need for flour so it makes up the majority of the aid sent."
The 26 trucks crossed to Syria from the southern Turkish province of Kilis via Oncupinar crossing, added Yemelek.
