Iranian FM spokeswoman Marzia Afkham said Wednesday that Iran sees the end of the “Decisive Storm” military campaign in Yemen as a positive development.
Afkham described the Saudi-led airstrikes as “illegitimate” and “not accepted by international public opinion.” She added that the only way out of the Yemen crisis is “through a political solution.”
“An attack of an Arab coalition against an Arab country was not seen in Arab history,” Afkham said. “We believe that only solution in Yemen is through dialogue.”
Afkham added that Iran expected the end of the operation because of diplomatic efforts in recent days.
"The Saudi-led 28-day attacks caused deaths of innocent people and destroyed the infrastructure of Yemen,” she said. “We hope that humanitarian aid would be sent to Yemen soon.”
