COPENHAGEN,
Denmark Two people have died from listeria in Denmark, raising the death toll to 15 over the last year, health officials have said.
Officials from the Statens Serum Institute (SSI) said on Tuesday that the number of those infected was also set to increase.
A total of 38 infected people are currently undergoing treatment.
The Institute has previously said that the initial outbreak had been traced to a batch of pork sausages which had been produced near Copenhagen.
In the last year, 20 people - including 11 women - have been treated for the disease and a total of 13 had died.
Listeria is an infection caused by eating contaminated food which primarily affects newborns, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.
