ANKARA
Lithuanian Prime Minister Аlgirdas Butkevicius said Thursday that a mosque will not be built in the capital Vilnius for refugees arriving in the country.
Butkevicius made his comments on a local TV channel as Vilnius is expected to take in 1,105 refugees - mosf of them reportedly Muslims.
"There is no need for a mosque to be built in Vilnius. I think they [Muslims] can use other facilities for worship," said Butkevicius.
Vilnius mayor, Remigijus Simasius, had said that there was no plan for a mosque in the city.
There are four mosques in total in Lithuania which is home to almost 5,000 Muslims.
