NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has said that NATO had no plan to intervene militarily in Syria.
After visiting Armenia and Georgia, he arrived in Azerbaijan and had a meeting with students at Azerbaijan Diplomacy Academy.
In regard to the situation in Syria, Rasmussen said that the best solution there would be a political one.
NATO has been monitoring developments closely in Syria, he said.
Rasmussen said NATO had no plan to intervene militarily in Syria, but they were ready to defend Turkey if necessary.
