GAZA
A young Palestinian man was moderately injured on Wednesday after being fired upon by Israeli warships off the coast of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian government has said.
Saber al-Ghoul, 24, sustained a gunshot wound to the hip after being shot at by Israeli naval forces near the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qodra told Anadolu Agency.
"Israel continues to breach the cease-fire by shooting at Palestinians," al-Qodra said, referring to an August 26 cease-fire deal between Israel and Palestinian factions, which ended a devastating Israeli military offensive on the blockaded coastal enclave that left over 2,160 Palestinians dead.
The Israeli army has yet to comment on the reported shooting incident.
