MOSCOW
Two suspects were detained Saturday over the death of Russian opposition figure Boris Nemtsov, who was shot dead in Moscow last week.
Anzor Gubashev and Zaur Dadayev are both from the North Caucasus, said Alexander Bortnikov, head of Russia’s federal security service.
Bortnikov added that President Vladimir Putin was informed of the development.
Putin had said last week that he would do everything possible to bring to justice those responsible for the murder.
Boris Nemtsov, once a deputy prime minister, was one of the most outspoken critics of Putin and Russia's role in the Ukraine conflict.
