Russia has provided economic support for Ukraine by cutting the price of natural gas by one-third to 268 dollars per 1000 cubic meters, from about 400 dollars.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated that Russia would buy 15 billion dollars worth of Ukranian government bonds to support the Ukrainian economy.
This price will be effective as of January 1, 2014 and it will be valid until 2019 said Ukranian deputy minister Yuriy Boyko.
"We did not speak about a customs union at the meeting," said Putin regarding the customs union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
Russian energy giant Gazprom announced a summary of the price paid for natural gas by 21 countries in February this year.
They found that England paid the least for gas at 363 dollars per 1000 cubic meters - and the cost of gas was highest at 563 dollars in Macedonia.
Gazprom exported gas to Turkey at 406 dollars per 1000 cubic meters and Turkey was ranked as the eighth out of 21 countries according to the list. Ukraine urgently needs 10 billion dollars according to economists.
It is expected that these aids will help the economy of the country amid ongoing protests in Kiev.
