BAGHDAD, Iraq
At least 24 Daesh militants were killed Tuesday after Iraqi security forces repelled two separate attacks in Anbar province, security and government sources said.
The Iraqi security forces killed 19 Daesh militants south of Fallujah, after “50 Daesh militants in 10 armored vehicles attacked al-Ameriyah district, 32 kilometers south of Fallujah,” Mahmoud al-Esawi, council chief of al-Ameriyah district, told The Anadolu Agency, without saying if there were any casualties to the Iraqi side.
The militants launched their attack from the Daesh-controlled city of Fallujah, Esawi added.
Meanwhile, Major General Kazem al-Fehdawi, Anbar province’s police chief, said that security forces, backed by tribal fighters, repelled Daesh attack on Ramadi and killed five militants in clashes.
