BELGRADE
A representative body of Bosnians living in the Serbian city of Sandzak awarded Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan with a golden medal for his effort to defend Bosnian rights.
Bosnian National Council President Esad Cucevic and his delegation presented the award to Turkey's Serbia Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay in Belgrade on Friday.
During the cerenomy, Cucevic acknowledged Erdogan's important contribution to Bosnians while Turkish Ambassador Bozay expressed Erdogan's pleasure at receiving such an award. Cucevic noted Bosnians living in Sandzak and Serbia are a bridge between the two countries.
The council's governing board also decided to grant a similar award to Bosnia and Herzegovina's Member of the Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic.
